The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which rose 5.83% or 0.56 points to trade at 10.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) added 3.81% or 2.44 points to end at 66.40 and A2A SpA (BIT:A2) was up 1.72% or 0.04 points to 2.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ERG (BIT:ERG), which fell 1.75% or 0.35 points to trade at 19.61 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 0.87% or 0.22 points to end at 24.48 and Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) was down 0.24% or 0.03 points to 12.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 265 to 233 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in A2A SpA (BIT:A2) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.72% or 0.04 to 2.25.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.09% or 0.80 to $74.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.18% or 0.90 to hit $77.06 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 10.41 to trade at $2,682.81 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 109.00.
